Last week we were invited for a dinner to enjoy the special cooked in house Chef’s signature dishes. Sarnies, an Aussie style cafe conveniently located in the Central business District and very close to Telok Ayer station.

One thing I liked about the cafe is that you can enjoy a meal with family, friends or colleagues and yet not making it a formal meeting.

We have started with Grilled Haloumi Sliders with Onion Jam & Roasted Cherry Tomatoes, the combination was quite nice with a hint of sweetness and a salty flavour from Haloumi. It is a vegetarian dish, so all veggies lovers can try this for one for a quick meal.

Next one on the menu was “Pulled Pork Tacos”  which was quite unique in the taste with pulled pork( like shredded), coriander, lime, red cabbage and chilli.Well, I have so far tried the tacos which are hard and probably the first time with soft-shelled tacos. The portion of these tacos was quite big since I am a small eater.

I personally liked these Spicy Buffalo Wings as with the first bite your tongue will get all the combination of flavours and the rub used here is a special mixture of spices. If you like spicy food this one is surely for you.

Here comes the main menu with the Chef’s signature dish – Southern Indian style hand cut pappardelle with prawns, coconut milk, curry leaves.  Trust me the flavours are so unique in this recipes and everything is made in-house right from the pappardelle which is large, very broad, flat pasta noodles, similar to wide fettuccine. That curry leaves toasted to the crispiness and coconut milk gives the smooth creamy texture to the pasta.

I was pretty excited about this recipe as when you marinate your meat overnight and then cook, it has a unique flavour in it. Texas style burger with overnight smoked brisket, white slaw, dijon, gherkins was so soft and full of flavours and it was served with BBQ sauce & hand cut wedges.

If you are thinking that I can eat a lot, let me clarify the thoughts that I shared the table with my 3 other friends and 4 of us couldn’t finish everything. No two burgers have got the same taste here! You can enjoy all these with Entertainer app.

We all have saved some space for the desserts and it was special – Churros with Chocolate & Salted Caramel Dip for dessert, Churros were so crispy from outside and soft from inside, I liked the salted caramel dip over the chocolate dip.
