I know you mummy must be thinking about the sweet part of Jam as I find it too sweet for myself. So giving it to my toddler won’t be a great idea. I have prepared my homemade jam with the real fruits and is perfect for kids. You can totally eliminate the sugar part in the homemade jam.
Cheese- 1 cube
Jam- (I have used homemade Jam)
Cut the bread corner and roll it flat with a rolling pin.
Spread the cheese evenly and after it put the jam layer.
Now roll it tightly but gently without breaking the bread ( don’t overdo with the jam).
Wet your hand and seal the corner.
On a pan take some butter and toast the bread. Cut it into pieces and serve!
All purpose flour- 7 tbsp
Butter- 3 tbsp
Grated Cheese – 2tbsp ( I took cheese slices)
You can cook Pasta in vegetable or chicken stock to make it healthy and flavourful too. At the same time making it a hearty meal for my little one. So prepared the tomato sauce for the base and then cooked in chicken stock ( which has got chicken and lots of veggies).
Boil pasta and strain it.
In a pan take butter saute garlic for a minute, add onions and stir until translucent.
Now add tomato and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Cool it and blend to make a sauce consistency.
Take butter in a pan add this above tomato sauce, chicken stock and pasta. Cook them for 5-10 minutes.
Add salt and some cheese to it.
You can adjust the consistency of the stock accordingly as a soupy or more thicker base.
Garnish with grated cheese and mixed herbs.
I have served stir fry asparagus with it.
I have tried few soups usually all with lots of vegetables, bread or noodles but trust me never ever thought of using a cauliflower in a soup.My little girl was not in a mood to eat anything and only vegetable I can use from my refrigerator were cauliflower and a small zucchini.
Only had less than 30 minutes to cook a complete meal(usually 30 minutes are enough to cook but with a toddler thinking about healthy and complete meal is a big task).
I was rushing to fetch my son from his school so want to prepare a complete one pot meal for her which is healthy and one good solid meal in itself.
Cauliflower – 3 florets
Potato- 1 small
Zucchini- 1/4 cup
Onion- 1 chopped
Milk- 1 cup
Vegetable stock cubes– 2-3
Grated cheese-1/4 cup
In a pan take butter and saute onion until it is softened.
Add cauliflower, potato, zucchini, salt, white pepper and roast for 2-3 minute. Now add milk and bring it to a boil.
Reduce the heat and simmer it for 20 minutes or until cauliflower and potato are soft.
To enhance the flavour and making it more healthier added couple of vegetable stock cubes, you can add water as well.
Take grated cheese 1/4 cup or lesser and add it to the soup and keep stirring else it will stick to the pan.
Mash it with potato masher or blend once for a smoother texture.
While serving the soup i have added the roasted bread cubes and mixed herbs. After a while bread cubes were soft as my little one dipped the bread cubes into the soup.
