LUMOS, a local brand, has launched this affordable projector LUMOS Auro in two versions –
Smart version
It comes with its own operating system ( Andriod OS). It is wi-fi enables with inbuilt Netflix, youtube, casting apps, play store & Bluetooth connectivity.
Regular Version
It does not come with Wi-fi, Netflix, Youtube, phone casting & Bluetooth. It required an external output like a laptop/USB/TV box to display content.
We decided to go with LUMOS projector at only $398(smart version) whereas the regular version is retailing at $299 only.
Setting up your Projector
Most of the homes have featured walls these days so I tried setting it up in one of the rooms with a light coloured plain wall and another featured wall. It works well with both of them but the light coloured background gives better and sharper clarity.
To set up your Netflix, Playstore and Youtube just sign in accordingly on the screen.
LUMOS Auro for families:
We bought this projector so that we can have bonding over some movies which we can enjoy together as a family even when we are not stepping out of our home.
The bigger screen is simply awesome and indirect light is less straining for kid’s eyes so a win-win situation for us. Kids will surely love that cinema experience in the comfort of the home.

Nowadays condos and new HDB don’t have much bigger space so this massive screen works wonderfully for the little spaces. Short throw (1:3:1) is good for even smaller bedrooms too. Having around a 3m distance can project an impressive 100-inch screen.

You will also notice usually the Lumens or Light output is around 2,000 -3,000 but LUMOS Auro projectors come with bright 6,000 Lumens.
