We have unlocked another milestone this year! It was last year during the P2 session we were introduced to the overnight camp in the school but we had to miss the camp as Aayan was not ready to stay in the school without us but we really wanted him to experience these stages. This year when we got the letter again from his school, initially he did resist for not attending but then he agreed to me that,“Mumma, I am going just because of you and don’t tell me to attend it again in P4”.
Woohoo! Finally, somebody is confident and was ready to take the leap and I was so happy as if it was for me.
Isn’t it for me?
Yes, it was for me as a mum, as a friend I want him to overcome his fears and to know his strengths.
Just before the camp night, he took the list to start packing everything on the list. He is actually very organised when taking care of his stuff. I didn’t have to check his bag to confirm that he would have missed out on anything. It is a pretty simple and a very handy list for a short trip as well.
I said, “Someone who will enjoy the new things or ready to learn and also all those who are ready to attend the camp.”
He said,” Yes, yes! I have that in me!”
Packed his luggage and his sleeping bag before we were off to sleep!
These school outdoor and life skills camps also aim at helping kids to develop leadership qualities and skills amongst the kids to provide them with a competitive edge in overcoming the future challenges and thrive in a dynamic world.
I love writing letters, small notes and it feels so good to read them later and relive those beautiful moments. Wrote this little note for Aayan before dropping him to school and felt so happy that he took this along with him. He said, “I will read this before sleeping”Well! 2 days were really really boring but so glad that Aayan got to learn many new things and Kaira keeps asking when Aayan will be back, I want to play with him. She was so concerned about his food, his bed that she even asked me, “Aayan will get milk in the school before bedtime?”
We decided to get Aayan's favourite chocolates and Kaira said, "she want to gift wrap the chocolates and also will write luv you, miss you to her elder brother(Bhaiya),Aayan. " We together gift wrapped and wrote the special message and colour the gift tag, put a ribbon on it. Kaira took the box all the way to his school, so that she is the first one to give him a hug and tell him that how much she missed him. #Mums_Babies #instagramers #Instagram#instagood#sginsta #sgig #igersgs#sgparents#sgmomblogger#sgparentbloggers#sporemombloggers#sginfluencer #momblogger #sgmom #sglife #bloggersg #sgblogclub #sgkids #sgmummy #sgkidsclub #sginfluencer #blogger #igsg #webstagram#instadaily #aayangupta #1stovernightcamp #schoollife #bigboy #loveyoutothemoonandback #momlife
A little present from Kaira to her big brother and she missed him a lot. She asked me to write with her a note for him and wrap these chocolates for him. She took it all the way to his school so that she is the first one to give him a hug and tell him that how much she missed him.
What did they learn at the camp?
- They got to work together as a team to pitch a tent.
- Got a budget in mind to plan and cook as a team, they also got to visit the supermaket to buy healthy food.
- Learnt basic orienteering skills
- Decision-making skills through climbing activities.
Here is our little champ happily after his 1st overnight camp… Let’s wait until next year and will come back to this post again to see whether someone is ready to attend his P4 camp or not!!!
