Fresh Christmas with Panasonic Singapore

Dec22,2015
Panasonic singapore
Christmas is just round the corner and OMY Blog Club has invited us to “Fresh Christmas with Panasonic Singapore” cooking workshop. This was the first time I have hands on experience cooking with an expert and other fellow bloggers. Here is the expert behind cooking all the recipes and I felt like hosting my own cooking show helping her.

This cooking workshop was held at Panasonic building in Bedok and since it was held on a weekend so it was just bloggers around. All the recipes we have prepared that day seem so easy and yummy, simply perfect to make at home for our family this festive season.

We were given all the recipes beforehand so that we will not get engaged writing all the ingredients and forget to enjoy the live demo. It was quite an interactive session as some of us got to chance to work along with her preparing the recipes. Here you can see our microwave for the day on which we will try our hands.

We have prepared everything from – Cinnamon buns, glutinous rice, black pepper stuffed chicken with stuffing, steamed chocolate cake with chocolate ganache, sesame sauce salad dressing. It was like a complete meal with everything on your platter.

Cinnamon Buns
We have started with dough for our cinnamon buns in Panasonic Bread Maker which has got a separate bread pan for your dough and another one for your yeast, salt or sugar. You can set the timer and let the dough ferment for the bun.

After we took out the dough gently knead it with your palm to smooth it out and roll it to make a not very thick layer. Coat the dough first layer with milk and sprinkle the cinnamon sugar, banana, choco chip.
Start rolling up the dough gently so that filling won’t come out and cut into 4 even pieces.
Here is your cinnamon Buns straight out of bread maker.

Glutinous Rice
In the meantime we have moved to our second recipe of glutinous rice which was prepared in Panasonic Rice cooker SR-HB-184 and one of the easiest and yummiest recipes I have tried. As a couple of things were pre done to save the time and we can do it at home as well while cooking. Soak the rice for 2-3 hours or overnight and add everything together to cook in this rice cooker under delicious mode.
In this recipe only thing we have not done together was to cook/ fry shallot and prawns which separately done in the microwave.

Wow! Mode itself sounds so delicious.

Shallots roasted in microwave and they were just perfect to garnish our rice.

Black Pepper roast chicken with Stuffing
Even though i know that marinating adds a lot of flavours to chicken but didn’t know that we can do it and let it absorb the flavours a week before in the freezer mode. We have used the full chicken with skin and already marinated with pepper overnight.

We just stuffed in the cooked glutinous rice inside it and brushed it with oil before placing it on a rack in microwave oven for around 55 minutes.

Half way through check the texture so that it is not burnt or need some oil brushing. Chicken was roasted in Panasonic microwave steam oven and it was quite tender from inside.

Steamed Chocolate cake with Chocolate Ganache
Chocolate cake was something we all were eagerly waiting as it is not baked but steamed. Yes, Steamed cake in a microwave oven. We have steamed this cake using Panasonic steamed microwave oven NN-CS894 which comes with a separate water tray which works as a steam. Recipe was adapted from Domestic Goddess wannabe blog.

All the ingredients go together with in a cake tin and timing set to 55 minutes. I can share the recipe here if anyone needs to try out this yummy cake.

Let it cool down before you pour chocolate ganache on it.

Here you go with the topping as I was trying to garnish it with some sliced almond.

Wanna share a slice of this gorgeous cake!

Sesame sauce salad dressing
We have freshly roasted sesame seeds in microwave for 1-2 minutes checking in between. Place roasted sesame and other ingredients listed to make a nice creamy sesame sauce which has got a lot of aroma and add freshness to your salad.

Well! We were introduced to Veggie life by Panasonic Singapore

Panasonic Veggie life is the first indoor vegetable farm certified by the Agri-food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) when it began commercial operations in 2013. Their farm has got more than 10 types of vegetables which goes into different salads – Ooba(mint herb), mitsuba(wild parsley), green & red leafy lettuce, mizuna, mini red & white radish, rocket lettuce, basil and baby spinach.
Veggie salad packs are available in three varieties and cost around $6.90 each which comes with a pack of sesame sauce to add flavours to your salad.

Here is our fresh and crunchy salad from Veggie Life into which we have added freshly roasted sesame sauce.
