Change in weather, rain, and living on quite a high floor all together have made my home too cold. My home smells like eucalyptus with every room having eucalyptus oil in an oil diffuser but I only love the fragrance of course, not the flu season.

Have you ever tried onion, ginger, garlic, carom seeds, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, Indian basil etc ??

I have started listing few of the tried and tested home remedies for my family. Since I know a little bit about onion, ginger, garlic and to give some relief to my painful throat I prepared a simple yet wonderful onion garlic soup.

Onion and garlic both have antifungal and antibacterial properties, put slices of onion in socks and it will draw the high fever.

Do you know that after you have crushed/ chopped the garlic leave it for 15 minutes at the room temperature and it will trigger a chemical reaction in the garlic to maximizes the health benefits?

Ingredients

Red Onion-2 big chopped
Garlic- 6-7 pods crushed
White or black pepper
Salt
Oil-1 tbsp
Water- 3 glasses /750ml

Method
In a pan take oil add onion, garlic and saute them for 2 minutes. After onion becomes translucent add 4 glasses of water.

Let it simmer for 30 minutes on a low flame.

Later just blend them, add salt, pepper and cook for another 10 minutes.

I didn’t add much pepper to it as gave this to my baby also to soothe her bad cough.
