If you ask any child about his most prized possession , it will definitely be a toy. Toys are around us from a very long
time though the style, technology has changed over the years but immense pleasure kids get from playing and having their own collection of toys remain same.

The earliest form of toys used to be clay, pebbles, tree branches, pottery, wood and later came small wooden carts, yo-yo etc. No parent can deny the fact that toys help their children to learn and understand a lot of things. Many of
toys help them to be imaginative and creative as well.

Nowadays almost every kid will have a jigsaw puzzle, lego, barbie, teddy bears, play doh but do we actually know about them. Here something for us to know about our favourites…
1. Teddy Bears

They are named after former US president Theodore Roosevelt also known as Teddy. On his hunting trip in the year 1902, he refused to shoot a black bear that was tied to the willow tree and looked very exhausted after being chased. A shopkeeper was inspired to make a toy bear for sale and gave one to him as well.

2. Barbie
Barbie was created in 1959.Her full name is Barbara Millicent Roberts, and she was named after the creator’s daughter. The first Barbie cost US$3 and sported a ponytail and a black and white striped swimsuit. Today it is
every little girls dream doll.
3. Lego
Lego was invented by a Danish carpenter in 1949.Its name is the combination of two Danish words meaning “play well”. All over the world, children have spent five billion hours “playing well” with Lego.
